Hot, so scary? Disney Halloween party heats up

Yes, yes, I’m one of those people who just couldn’t embrace Halloween celebrations in August. So I waited until September to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom.

But in Central Florida, September is really August: Part 2, and, in my opinion, too warm to be going around in costume. My attitude was in the minority during Not-So-Scary, but, honestly, costumes worn by other attendees increased my enjoyment level.

The trend among adults leans toward Disneybounding — not a full-blown costume but more of a color-coded homage. A yellow, blue and red look is a Snow White shout-out, for instance.

We spotted a fun one before we got on the tram: an expectant mother in golden yellow and red, looking very Winnie the Pooh. She wore a Hunny Pot as a purse.
